Biography
Amalie Henrichsen
Secondary Special Education
My name is Amalie Henrichsen and I am starting my 13th year at Hawthorn Academy as a Middle School Special Education Teacher and the transition coordinator in the Special Education Department. This year I will be teaching TLC. I have a Bachelor's Degree from BYU in History teaching with a minor in political science teaching and a Master's Degree from the University of Phoenix in Education Studies with an emphasis in Special Education. I am originally from Johnsburg, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago. I am a Chicago sports fan and will cheer on all of my teams, especially the Chicago Cubs. When I am not at school, I enjoy spending time with my husband and son, traveling, playing and watching sports, swimming, family, bargain shopping, and exploring the world around us. I love being a part of Hawthorn Academy and to work with the students on becoming life-long learners and to be part of their journey in education.
