Middle School Music
Hi! My first name is pronounced Yo-lah-neh (Spanish) or Yo-law-knee (English). You can decide however you'd like to say it. I grew up in Kearns, Utah in a Musical Mexican household. I and my five siblings all played a different musical instrument all throughout school and have the Piano in common.
I graduated with a Bachelor of Music in Instrumental Music Education and a minor in Spanish Teaching from the University of Utah. My first instrument was the Flute in 5th grade but my chosen instrument to study in the long run is the Oboe; although I play lots of Saxophone in Marching Band. I volunteer some of my free time playing in summer community musicals around the valley, with the West Valley Symphony, and the Murray Concert Band. I believe strongly in mastery of the fundamentals in order to succeed in music.
I will be teaching Band, Orchestra, Percussion, Guitar, Choir, 6th Grade General Music, and the After/Before School 4-6 Elementary Ensembles (Band, Orchestra, Percussion, Choir). Please feel free to contact me via email if you have any questions regarding enrollment into any ensembles.
