I have served on the Board since inception, and served as the first Board president for Hawthorn Academy. I previously worked as a chemical engineer at the U. S. Bureau of Mines, and The Center of Nuclear Technology and Engineering Research at the University of Utah. I earned a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering with a specialty in Nuclear Engineering, and minored in Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics from the University of Utah. I volunteer extensively for the University of Utah Association of Alumni Engineers, the Boy Scouts of America as a District Unit Commissioner, the president of Salt Lake County 4-H Leader's Council, and the state of Utah's 4-H Leader's Council.
