I love Hawthorn Academy. After graduating from Utah State with my Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education degrees, I chose to teach at Hawthorn to be closer to family. My youngest brother was still attending Hawthorn at the time, and I saw it as an opportunity to spend more time with him. Honestly one of the best decisions I have ever made. I love the family community at Hawthorn. The teachers and the students and their families are amazing! I taught Kindergarten here for three years, before getting married and moving to Nebraska. I taught preschool there for a year, and then decided to stay home when we had our first baby.
I love to be around friends and family. I don't love being stuck inside at home all day. So you will often find my family and I at parks, splash pads, swimming lessons, in the mountains, the aquarium, or at grandparents' houses.
I love teaching and hope to return when we are done having children and they are all in school. In the meantime, I plan to stay involved in school life by being here on the board and volunteering in classrooms when I can. I'm so excited and grateful to be back!
